1. Account & profile data

When you sign up, we store your email address, a hashed password, and any profile details you choose to share (username, full name, bio, avatar). This information is used to operate your account and display your profile to other users.

2. Content you post

Posts, comments, likes, follows, and uploaded media (images and videos) are stored so they can be displayed on the platform. Public posts are visible to other StartSalam users.

3. Cookies, sessions & authentication

We use secure cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to maintain your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.

4. Moderation & reporting data

When you report content, or when our moderation systems flag content, we store the report, the flagged item, and any moderator action taken. This data is used to enforce our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and to detect repeat offenders.

5. Uploaded media

Images and videos you upload are stored in our secure storage. Files are validated for type and size before upload. Media attached to deleted posts is removed from public view; backup copies may persist for a limited time for safety and recovery purposes.

6. Logs & basic analytics

We collect basic technical logs (IP address, user agent, request timestamps) and aggregated usage analytics (signups, posts, comments, reports per day) to keep the service stable, prevent abuse, and improve the platform. We do not build advertising profiles.

7. We do not sell your data

StartSalam does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.

8. Service providers

We use trusted infrastructure providers (hosting, database, storage) to operate the platform. These providers process data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality.

9. Your rights

You can edit your profile, delete your posts, or delete your account at any time from the in-app settings. To request a copy of your data or full deletion, contact us at the email below.

10. Children's privacy

StartSalam is not intended for users under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page.
